I live locally with my husband and two kids, my son (3) and daughter (1). I have worked as a Para Educator and Administrative Assistant for the San Carlos School District for 6 years. I taught four years at Tierra Linda Middle School and three years at Arroyo. We all enjoy hiking and traveling. I have taught high school students art for over 10 years. At Arroyo, we are proud to be an inclusive community and continually strive to strengthen this aspect of our school. I love guiding the students through the creative process and helping them create something that they are proud of.

My parents like to remind me how I did my mission project on Mission Santa Barbara, which they believe later inspired me to go to UCSB for my degree! I am happy to be part of the team that provides this additional support.

It is true that we take great pride in our physical environment, but the real beauty illuminates through the people, including the students, teachers, support staff, families, and the loving community. They really start to develop their own sense of identity and values. Previously, I loved attending the Michigan based camp in person and now take my own daughter to Mother Daughter Camp at the YMCA every chance we get.

I love teaching 4th grade because I am passionate about our country's fascinating history and particularly interested in all things pioneer related. I enjoy anything outdoors, some favorites are: trail running, hiking, and bike riding. In 4th grade, students are making many cross curriculum connections and for me that is very exciting.
