It is my opinion that not every movie has fast, quick-paced shooting. The parallel stories were handled very well. It takes attention in order to understand the plot and figure out what's going on. by Julianne Moore. The ones that tell a great story, but don't necessarily impress all audiences. But I had to see how this would end up. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. and now this young boy in 1977 Minnesota, looking for his father after seeing a bookmark for a specific bookstore in Manhattan.

All the elements of nature and much of which we don't understand, chance, once in a while come together and it seems like we have some purpose in this life. In contrast to Rose’s story, Ben’s is colour-saturated and almost hyperreal.

It is a bit muddled on how the father passed, but I am glad that Rose's story came out well because it seemed as though the father and mother didn't want to be bothered by her at all although they were well to do. The parallel in the lives of the Grandmother as a little girl and her grandson some 50 years later is so well done. Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2018. I love how the two stories ran side by side "out of time," and then merged and connected in a beautiful happy and heartfelt ending were we see the whole panoramic picture. You can still see all customer reviews for the product.

It left me wanting to know what happens next for Rose and Ben. I don't want to add any spoilers but there were key points that needed more of the backstory filled in.

The ending was great, very worth the watch. We use communication with visual language, hands, and no sound. This simply a beautiful film. Our family loved this film, as did our 7 year old daughter. It's not a typical story, and it keeps interest of kids and adults alike. But the movie takes too long to get to the final story and then it's too quick to tie it all up. I decided to write this post, after reading the 1- and 2-star reviews, with a TEST to help answer that question. In Wonderstruck, Todd Haynes weaves together two stories that are not just parallel, but effectively mirror images of each other. If you believe that everything happens for a reason and that there is some universal order to each and every one of us, this is a film to watch.

WONDERSTRUCK is visually gorgeous and emotionally satisfying and will leave readers quite fond of the characters. Wonderstruck is a beautiful story of two children in different times in search of something important to them. Based on Brian Selznick’s critically acclaimed novel Ben and Rose are children from two different eras who secretly wish their lives were different. Seeing the curiosity on both Rose and Ben's faces in the museum reminded me of when I would visit the Museum of Science and Industry when I was a child and seeing that same wonder on my children's faces when I took them to my favorite Museum in Chicago. My only problem, and it has nothing to do with the film, is that the actor who plays Ben was also in Pete's Dragon, a film I've had to sit through with my kids a thousand times, so it was hard to not see "Pete" as Ben. A bit slow, but because there is so little dialog you have to be patient for it to unfold. A very good family film for thoughtful pre-teens and above. Not every film will come off as a blockbuster, spelling out the direction of the film along the way. The black and white "silent film" technique was excellent, but again required patience. If you can accept this, and see introspective films about discovery as a good thing, rather than a problem, you will love this film. Very good movie for kids as well as for the hearing impaired. Wonderstruck may not reach the same emotional heights as some of Todd Haynes’ previous work, yet the film is still a magical achievement. Mysterious and engaging.
